• Though hoarding develops by early adulthood, many individuals do not recognize that they have a problem until later in life, if at all.
  • This has resulted in our understanding being based largely on samples of predominantly older females who see help for hoarding.
  • Previously linked to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), it has been suggested that many individuals with hoarding disorder have high inattention levels reminiscent of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • I will describe a study assessing hording in adults with ADHD and consider how this can inform current models of hoarding taking into account cognitive, emotional and social environmental considerations.
